This site allows HTML content. While learning all of HTML may feel intimidating, learning how to use a very small number of the most basic HTML "tags" is very easy. This table provides examples for each tag that is enabled on this site.
For more information see W3C's HTML Specifications or use your favorite search engine to find other sites that explain HTML.

If you do encounter problems, try using HTML character entities. A common example looks like & for an ampersand & character. For a full list of entities see HTML's entities page. Some of the available characters include:
Character Description You Type You Get Ampersand && Greater than >> Less than << Quotation mark "" Syntax highlighting of source code can be enabled with the following tags:
- Generic syntax highlighting tags: "
[code]", "[blockcode]". - Language specific syntax highlighting tags: "
[applescript]" for AppleScript source code, "[bash]" for Bash source code, "[c]" for C source code, "[cpp]" for C++ source code, "[css]" for CSS source code, "[diff]" for Diff source code, "[drupal5]" for Drupal 5 source code, "[drupal6]" for Drupal 6 source code, "[html4]" for HTML source code, "[java]" for Java source code, "[javascript]" for Javascript source code, "[latex]" for LaTeX source code, "[lisp]" for Lisp source code, "[lua]" for Lua source code, "[m68k]" for Motorola 68000 Assembler source code, "[make]" for GNU make source code, "[mysql]" for MySQL source code, "[objc]" for Objective-C source code, "[pascal]" for Pascal source code, "[perl]" for Perl source code, "[php]" for PHP source code, "[python]" for Python source code, "[ruby]" for Ruby source code, "[sql]" for SQL source code, "[xml]" for XML source code.
Options and tips:
- The language for the generic syntax highlighting tags can be specified with one of the attribute(s): type, lang, language, class. The possible values are: "
applescript" (for AppleScript), "bash" (for Bash), "c" (for C), "cpp" (for C++), "css" (for CSS), "diff" (for Diff), "drupal5" (for Drupal 5), "drupal6" (for Drupal 6), "html4" (for HTML), "html4strict" (for HTML), "java" (for Java), "javascript" (for Javascript), "latex" (for LaTeX), "lisp" (for Lisp), "lua" (for Lua), "m68k" (for Motorola 68000 Assembler), "make" (for GNU make), "mysql" (for MySQL), "objc" (for Objective-C), "pascal" (for Pascal), "perl" (for Perl), "php" (for PHP), "python" (for Python), "ruby" (for Ruby), "sql" (for SQL), "xml" (for XML). - Line numbering can be enabled/disabled with the attribute "linenumbers". Possible values are: "off" for no line numbers, "normal" for normal line numbers and "fancy" for fancy line numbers (every nth line number highlighted). The start line number can be specified with the attribute "start", which implicitly enables normal line numbering. For fancy line numbering the interval for the highlighted line numbers can be specified with the attribute "fancy", which implicitly enables fancy line numbering.
- If the source code between the tags contains a newline (e.g. immediatly after the opening tag), the highlighted source code will be displayed as a code block. Otherwise it will be displayed inline.
- A title can be added to a code block with the attribute "title".
Defaults:
- Default highlighting mode for generic syntax highlighting tags: when no language attribute is specified, no syntax highlighting will be done.
- Default line numbering: no line numbers.
Examples:
You type You get [code]foo = "bar";[/code]Inline code with the default syntax highlighting mode. [code]
foo = "bar";
baz = "foz";
[/code]Code block with the default syntax highlighting mode. [code lang="m68k" linenumbers="normal"]
foo = "bar";
baz = "foz";
[/code]Code block with syntax highlighting for Motorola 68000 Assembler source code
and normal line numbers.[code language="m68k" start="23" fancy="7"]
foo = "bar";
baz = "foz";
[/code]Code block with syntax highlighting for Motorola 68000 Assembler source code,
line numbers starting from 23
and highlighted line numbers every 7th line.[applescript]
foo = "bar";
baz = "foz";
[/applescript]Code block with syntax highlighting for AppleScript source code. [applescript start="23" fancy="7"]
foo = "bar";
baz = "foz";

Video Filter
You may insert videos from popular video sites by using a simple tag
[video:URL].Examples:
- Single video:
[video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId] - Random video out of multiple:
[video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId1,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId2] - Override default autoplay setting:

Supported sites: YouTube, Google Video, Tangle, DailyMotion, Vimeo, Flickr Slideshows, Flickr Video, Game Videos, Meta Cafe, Streamhoster, Game Trailers, College Humor, MySpace, Capped, Blip.tv, Slideshare, Picasa Slideshows, Teachertube.
Special instructions:
Some codecs need special input. You'll find those instructions here.- Slideshare:
You need to construct your own URL, using the "Wordpress Embed" code from Slideshare, extract the "id" and "doc" parts, and form the URL like this: slideshare.net/?id=1759622&doc=usingdrupal-090723103440-phpapp01. - Picasa Slideshows:
You must use the URL of the RSS feed for the Picasa album:- View the album in Picasa (you should see thumbnails, not a slideshow).
- Find the "RSS" link and click it.
- Copy the resulting URL from the browser address bar. Example:
[video: http://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/base/user/USER_NAME/albumid/5568104935784209834?alt=rss&kind=photo&hl=en_US]

- Quick Tips:
- Two or more spaces at a line's end = Line break
- Double returns = Paragraph
- *Single asterisks* or _single underscores_ = Emphasis
- **Double** or __double__ = Strong

- Typogrify.module brings the typographic refinements of Typogrify to Drupal.
- Wraps ampersands (the $ldquo;&” character) with <span class=\"amp\">&</span>.
- Prevents single words from wrapping onto their own line using Shaun Inman's Widont technique.
- Converts straight quotation marks to typographer's quotation marks, using SmartyPants.
- Converts multiple hyphens to en dashes and em dashes (according to your preferences), using SmartyPants.
- Wraps multiple capital letters with <span class=\"caps\">CAPS</span>.
- Wraps initial quotation marks with <span class=\"quo\"></span> or <span class=\"dquo\"></span>.
- Adds a css style sheet that uses the <span> tags to substitute a showy ampersand in headlines, switch caps to small caps, and hang initial quotation marks.
- LaTex commands embedded in text will be interpreted and rendered. Additional information can be found at DruTex Documentation Pages
